We usually receive many very good applications for each of our dogs, and we cannot respond to every applicant. The foster parent will
contact the person who is approved for adoption. We will keep your application on file for 1 year. Email us if you are interested in a dog at
any time during the following year and we will send your file to that dog's foster mom. Thank you for your interest in a rescue dog.
The Adoption Process
1.  Adoption application
2.  References
3.  Phone interview with foster parent
4.  Home visit
5. Adoption contract and donation
6. Adoption follow-up

              After The Adoption
After the adoption is complete and you take your baby home, we will maintain follow-up
communication with you for the first yea
r to be certain that the adoption is working for you and
for your new family addition. Either the foster parent or our Adoption Nana will contact you at
specified intervals. We will be available to help you if you have any concerns about your adopted
dog. We want to insure that this home is truly the dog's Forever Home, and he/she never has to
know the pain of rejection and homelessness again.
The required Adoption Donation helps the organization cover the cost of vetting all of  the
dogs. All dogs are spayed/neutered, UTD on all vaccinations, HW tested, on HW and
flea/tick preventative, and have received a fecal test and a thorough vet exam. Any medical
problems have been addressed. Adoption donations do not cover all of our vet bills. We
still have to rely on other donations to pay for all vet bills.
Please Note: Adoption Donations
are NOT tax deductible because the value of the dog and/or the vetting it has received
exceed the adoption donation.

Yorkie Friends Rescue does not adopt dogs to families with
children under 8 years old
. We do not know the histories of
many of the dogs, and many are very small and could be
easily injured if picked up and dropped or stepped on
accidentally. Some dogs require children above 12 years old
and some dogs require an adult only home. Many dogs must
have a fenced yard, a home without other dogs, or other
special requirement for adoption. Please read the write ups
carefully before submitting an application. We try to put
complete information about the dogs in the writeups to help
you select a dog that will fit into your home.
Yorkie Friends Rescue does not do long distance adoptions in areas
where we have no members. Most of the dogs are in Florida.
